Local city majors and county representatives election on January 24 yielded 16 successful female candidates out of 42 who participated. Among those, they were women who "took the places of their husbands," who were their extended families' representatives, as well as those who "took the initiative in local politics." This was the first election after DPP pushed for the legislation stipulating a 25% quota of female participants. Unfortunately the Part itself did not abide by the regulation in this election.
